What it costs.

Every rate we charge, published. You'll get a quote before any work begins, and the number you're quoted is the number you pay, if something changes mid-repair we stop and call you rather than adding it to the bill.

The three modes cost different amounts for good reasons.

Picking the right one saves real money. Here's the honest version.

REMOTE $85/hr

Cheapest whenever the problem is software: email, malware, updates, printers, setup. Nothing to transport, no travel.

DROP-OFF $50/hr

Right for anything physical: a machine that won't start, failed hardware, an SSD upgrade, a drive recovery.

ON-SITE $130/hr

The most expensive per hour, and worth it specifically when the problem is the network rather than the computer, when there's a server, or when the equipment can't leave the building.

Call and describe what's happening. We'll point you at the cheapest option that will actually solve it, including telling you when that's remote rather than a visit.

Why the diagnostic is charged separately.

Because a fair quote requires knowing what's wrong, and knowing what's wrong takes work.

Plenty of shops quote a plausible-sounding fix over the phone, then discover the real problem partway through and call you about the difference. We'd rather charge for the investigation honestly and then give you a number that holds.

If the fault turns out to be obvious in five minutes, that's what you're billed for. And if you decide not to proceed, you've still learned exactly what's wrong with your machine and roughly what it's worth doing about it.

What we won't do.

Bill you for work you didn't approve. If the picture changes mid-repair, we stop and call.

Quote low and escalate. Especially on data recovery, where that's an industry habit. $400 is $400.

Charge you for a failed recovery. No files back, no recovery fee.

Sell you things you don't need. No bundled antivirus on a repair that didn't call for it.

Recommend a repair that costs more than the machine's worth. We'll tell you to replace it instead.

Hourly adds up, and you only pay after it's already cost you.

If you're calling for help several times a year, hourly is the expensive way to buy support. Managed IT starts at from $100 per user per month and covers monitoring, security and support continuously, which mostly means the emergencies stop happening. Assessment and quote are free.

ROUGH COMPARISON

Four on-site call-outs a year, 2hrs each$1,040
…plus whatever the downtime cost you?
Managed IT, 5 users, one year$6,000

Not a like-for-like swap. The point is that hourly buys repairs, and monthly buys the problems not happening. Which is cheaper depends entirely on how often things break. We'll tell you honestly which side you're on.

The things people ask before calling.

Do you charge for a quote?

No, quotes are free. The $50/hr diagnostic applies when we need to actually investigate a fault to work out what's wrong, and we tell you before that clock starts.

Will the price change once you've started?

Not without you agreeing first. If we find something that changes the picture, we stop and call you. You'll never get an invoice for work you didn't approve.

Why is data recovery $400 when others advertise less?

Because it's a flat rate that includes hardware-based recovery, and because you pay nothing if it fails. Lower advertised prices are often for simple file-undelete work, with physical drive failures quoted much higher once they have your drive. Ours doesn't move.

Is the SSD included in the $120?

No: that's the cloning labour. The drive is separate and depends on the capacity you need. You're welcome to supply your own.

How can I pay?

Credit cards, debit cards and online payments.

Do you offer a discount for multiple machines?

Get in touch with the details and we'll quote the job as a whole rather than machine by machine.

WHAT BACKS IT

Ninety days on our labour.

If the work we did stops holding, bring it back and we sort it — ninety days, no argument. Most shops in this city offer thirty.

Two honest caveats. It covers our labour, not parts — parts carry whatever the manufacturer gives them, and we tell you what that is before you buy. And if you asked us for a deliberate temporary fix, knowing it was temporary, that one is on the receipt as such.

Data recovery works differently and better: $400 flat, and nothing to pay at all if we cannot get your files back.
