Know the price before you call.

Three kinds of problem come through our door. Pick the one that is yours: every route shows what it costs before you pick up the phone.

One machine that stopped working from $50/hr
Files you cannot lose $400 flat

If the drive is still running, power it off now. Every minute a failing drive stays on can overwrite what we would otherwise get back.

Recovery is one flat price, whatever the job turns out to involve. Film, tape and photographs come back too. That is work almost nobody else in the region does.

A business that cannot go down from $100/user/mo

FLAT MONTHLY COVER

Flat monthly cover for the machines your business runs on. Monitoring, patching and backups happen quietly in the background, and when something does break you get a person on the phone rather than a queue position.

  • Monitoring, patching & support
  • Cybersecurity & backups
  • Cloud & email management

As a locally owned and operated business, we're proud to serve Edmonton and the surrounding communities, including Sherwood Park, St. Albert, Fort Saskatchewan, Leduc, Spruce Grove and Stony Plain. From general PC and laptop repairs through to data recovery and virus removal, we cover it, with pricing you can see before you commit.

We understand how much trust it takes to hand someone your computer, and we don't take that lightly. Here's who you'd be handing it to. That's why we lead with transparent pricing, honest advice about whether a repair is even worth doing, and service we're happy to be judged on. Don't just take our word for it: look us up on Google and see what our customers say.

Three ways to get help. Picking right saves you money.

Most people aren't sure whether to bring the machine in, have someone come out, or get it sorted remotely. The honest answer depends on the problem: here it is.

REMOTE $85/hr

Cheapest and fastest

Nothing to transport. We connect securely, you watch the whole thing, and it works wherever you are.

BEST FOR

  • Email that won't connect
  • Malware and software faults
  • Printers, setup, “how do I…”

NOT FOR  anything physically broken.

DROP-OFF $50/hr

Best for hardware

On a bench with tools and spare parts. Diagnostics are hourly, and you get the findings plus your options before anything else happens.

BEST FOR

  • Won't turn on, or is damaged
  • Drive recovery, SSD fitting
  • Anything needing parts

NOT FOR  quick questions: remote is cheaper.

ON-SITE $130/hr

For what can't move

The priciest per hour, and for a single laptop it usually isn't the one you want. It earns its keep when the problem isn't the computer.

BEST FOR

  • Networks and servers
  • Equipment fixed in place
  • Confidential environments

NOT FOR  a single laptop you could carry in.

Not sure which you're in? Run the free troubleshooter, or call and describe it: we'll tell you the cheapest route that actually solves it.

The person who gets drives back when they fail is the one you want keeping yours from failing.

Most IT gets bought after something has already gone wrong. We do the recovery work, so we know exactly what it costs a business to be down, and what it takes to make sure it isn't.

See how managed IT works Talk to us about your office

The IT problems you never hear about are the ones we already handled.

Most small businesses only call IT when something is already broken and someone is already losing a day's work. Managed IT inverts that: monitoring, patching, backups and security running quietly in the background, with a technician on the end of the phone rather than a ticket number.

Tiered packages start at from $100 per user per month and scale with the business. You get proactive management, cybersecurity, secure backups, and IT strategy that lines up with where you're actually headed.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

Proactive monitoring

Maintenance and performance tuning that heads issues off rather than reacting.

Cybersecurity & backups

Firewalls, antivirus, security updates, and your data backed up against loss.

Support seven days a week

A technician when something breaks, not a queue position.

Cloud, email & strategy

Technology decisions that line up with where the business is going.

STARTS AT $100/user/mo

Most of our work walks in on a recommendation.

You know the price before you call.

Our rates are published, not quoted down the phone. You get a firm number before work starts, and it doesn't move afterwards.

We'll tell you when not to bother.

Sometimes a $120 SSD saves a machine you were ready to bin. Sometimes the repair costs more than it's worth: we say so.

Recommended, not advertised.

Customers arrive by word of mouth and referral, including from Memory Express. That only works if the last job went well.

Don’t take our word for it.

Questions people actually ask.

How do I book an appointment with Rightek?
Use the contact form and tell us what's going on, or call (587) 418-3248 to arrange a time. Our Anthony Crescent location is drop-off by appointment, so it's worth calling ahead rather than turning up.
How do I reach you for support?
Call (587) 418-3248, email info@rightek.ca, or use the contact form. We'll get back to you promptly.
What does it cost, and how can I pay?
Diagnostics start at $50 per hour, virus removal and OS reload is $80, hard drive cloning is $120, data recovery is $400 flat with no fee if we can't recover your files, on-site work is $130 per hour and remote support is $85 per hour. Managed IT starts at from $100 per user per month. You'll always get a quote before work begins. We accept credit cards, debit cards and online payments. Full detail is on the pricing page.
Do you warranty your work?
Ninety days on our labour. If the same fault comes back within ninety days, bring it back and we'll put it right at no charge.

The exception is when we've told you what a machine actually needs and you'd rather have a cheaper temporary fix instead. That repair isn't covered for the problem we said it wouldn't solve, and you'll always know which one you're getting before you agree to it.
What areas do you cover?
Edmonton and the nearby communities: Sherwood Park, St. Albert, Fort Saskatchewan, Leduc, Spruce Grove and Stony Plain. If you're outside those areas, get in touch anyway and we'll talk through the options, including remote support which works anywhere.
What services do you provide?
Computer and laptop repair, hard drive and SSD data recovery, virus and malware removal, OS reloads, hard drive cloning and SSD upgrades, network setup, on-site and remote IT support, managed IT for businesses, and film, photo and video digitizing and restoration. Both homes and businesses.
Is it worth repairing, or should I just replace it?
That depends on the machine and the fault, and we'll tell you honestly either way. Sometimes a $120 SSD upgrade transforms a computer people were ready to throw out. Sometimes the repair genuinely costs more than the machine is worth, and we'll say so rather than sell you the work.
