The west corridor
Spruce Grove is a straightforward run west along Highway 16 once you're on the Henday, and it's grown fast enough that a lot of households and small businesses out there have outgrown "ask whoever set up the router."
We're in south-west Edmonton, which puts us on the right side of the city for the western communities. On-site visits are practical here when the job warrants one, and we'll tell you honestly when it doesn't.
Which option to pick
- Remote: $85/hr. Email, malware, failed updates, printers, software that's misbehaving, "how do I". Nothing travels, and it's often sorted the same day.
- Pick-up: $50 flat. For hardware faults and failed drives, we'll collect the machine and bring it back. No drive into the city.
- Drop-off: $50/hr diagnostic. If you're heading into south Edmonton anyway, our Anthony Crescent location is appointment-only, so call first.
- On-site: $130/hr. Networks, servers, several machines at once, or equipment that can't move.
The slow-computer problem
Far and away the most common thing we see is a machine that's become unbearably slow and an owner who assumes they need a new one. Usually they don't.
If the computer takes minutes to become usable after switching on, the mechanical hard drive is almost certainly the reason. An SSD upgrade at $120 clones everything across, files, programs, settings, nothing to reinstall, and the machine typically feels years newer. It's the cheapest way out of buying a replacement, and we'd rather sell you that than a new computer you didn't need.
Rural properties and internet trouble
Once you're past the town boundaries, connections get less reliable and Wi-Fi has more house to cover. Dead spots, drops and slow speeds in one end of the building are network problems rather than computer problems, and they can only really be diagnosed in the building, which is what on-site service is for.
Businesses in Spruce Grove
For local businesses, managed IT from $100 per user per month covers monitoring, cybersecurity, backups and support continuously. Out here that matters more than it does in the city centre, because when something breaks, "someone will drive out" is a slower answer than anybody wants. Prevention beats response.
