What would happen if your primary internet went down? Would you be able to access the internet at all?

The internet isn’t always one hundred percent reliable. There are times when the internet fails due to natural disasters, catastrophic events, power outages, cyber-attacks, etc. In such situations, you might not be able to access the web. If you don't have a backup plan, you might be left without internet access for days. This is why it is so important to have internet redundancy with a secondary internet connection.

Handle Internet Outages with LTE Backup Plan

If your home internet or business internet goes down, you're going to be upset. If you only have a single primary connection, you may experience a loss of productivity and a possible decline in customer satisfaction. But you don't need to worry because there's a solution! A secondary connection in addition to your primary connection will help to ensure you stay connected and continue to provide good, quick customer service. An LTE (Long Term Evolution) router is a great way to keep your data safe when your internet connection fails.

An LTE router works just like a regular router, except it uses 4G technology instead of WiFi. This means that your data is protected from hackers and viruses, and you can still access the internet. In fact, you can even stream video over LTE, which is perfect for those who rely on Netflix and YouTube.

Many business-grade routers provide built-in backup protection by offering a spot to put in a sim card. This can help you mitigate hardware failures, as well as infrastructure failures. If you have cell phone reception, you will likely not experience any internet interruptions.

LTE routers are relatively inexpensive, and they're available at most major retailers. And Since they provide wireless internet they're also compatible with many different devices, including laptops, tablets, smartphones, and gaming consoles. So whether you're looking for a simple backup plan or a full-blown internet service provider, an LTE router is a great option.

Why you should have a backup internet service

If your internet service provider (ISP) goes down, you lose all access to your email, your social media accounts, and your business. When you're offline, you cannot communicate with your clients, prospective customers, and employees. So having backup service to avoid service interruptions is essential for staying connected to your business or home.

The benefits of having backup internet service include:

• No downtime - Your business won't lose money when it's offline because you'll still receive payments.

• Stay online - Your customers don't need to worry about losing access to your services.

• No communication downtime - You can still communicate with your clients, employees, and prospects with peace of mind.

• Business continuity - You can recover quickly after a catastrophe, minimizing losses and ensuring your business continues running smoothly.

In short, having a backup internet service means you can stay online and keep your business running smoothly.

What should I look for when choosing an internet service provider (ISP)?

The most popular service providers offer unlimited data plans with no overage fees. However, they typically cost more than other providers. So, if you don't mind paying extra for the speed boost, then these internet providers are worth considering.

On the other hand, cheaper providers often limit data usage to specific amounts per month. They may also charge overage fees, which means you could pay more than when you might pay for a high-speed, unlimited plan. So what would be the right choice for you and your business?

When choosing an ISP, you should consider the following factors:

• Network Speed - Do you need fast speeds? Or would slower speeds work for you? The cost will always be higher for faster.

• Price - Are prices reasonable? Is there a contract required?

• Customer support - Can you reach customer support easily?

• Coverage area - Where is your provider's coverage area?

• Data caps - Do you have a limit on the amount of data you can transmit?

Why do you need two different service providers?

If you're not already using multiple providers for your internet access, you should be. In fact, you need at least two different providers for your internet access. Why? Because when one provider goes out, you still have another provider available. And if you don't have a second provider, you're stuck with no internet. And if you don't have your business internet, it could mean a drop in productivity. If you have backup services in place, then your home connection or business internet will continue to work even when one provider doesn't. That's why I recommend having two separate accounts with two separate providers. One account for your home internet connection and one account for your cell phone data plan. This way, if your home internet connection fails, you can switch over to your cell phone data plan and continue surfing. And if your cell phone carrier goes out, you can switch back to your home internet connection.

The Bottom Line

The bottom line is simple: no matter how well you prepare for emergencies, they're going to happen. So, when disaster strikes, you need to be ready to bounce back quickly and keep your business running smoothly. That means having a reliable backup connection plan in place separate from their primary service. And since most businesses rely on the internet for their core operations, it makes sense to have a backup plan in case the internet goes down. Fortunately, there are many ways to set up a backup system. Finding a backup internet provider for your home or business internet is important. And with LTE and SIM router integration, it has never been easier.
